Permutación was born from the connection between applied arts and design. This sculptural object is a lively, open, changing work of art both in size and shape. It can be adapted to the three planes of space and with the peculiarity of being an interactive project. In mathematics, a permutation is the change of order in the arrangement of the elements of a set. This definition is fully valid for this project.
Everything mentioned is achieved with a modular structure which can be assembled and disassembled easily in an infinite number of possibilities. This structure is formed by modules of different wood, the woods used are Cherry wood, Walnut, Iroko and Pine wood.
The starting point of these modules is the cube and they will be identical in the flat face or in the supporting part. And they will have the same length and width measures (120x120mm).At the top they will have with concave and convex shapes, cuts, gaps and other ways of emptying the piece of wood.
The assembly of the parts is done by mortise and tenon, the latter being loosened to facilitate assembly and disassembly. The mortise and tenon joint has been used for thousands of years by woodworkers around the world to join pieces of wood, mainly when the adjoining pieces connect at an angle of 90o.
