VII Prize Iberoamerican Cortes of Cadiz Design

HE. Cadiz City Council convenes in its seventh year the Ibero-American Prize Courts of Cadiz Design. This initiative is part of the acts that Cadiz has organized to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Constitution 1812.

The main objectives of this award are to extend, strengthen and promote the culture of design, promoting design in all its aspects, highlighting exemplary manifestations in the relationship between design and business on one hand, and cultural and social impact on the other; and conduct an information campaign for the proper appreciation and understanding of design by society in general.

Participation

May participate in the award companies and designers or design teams domiciled in Spain or any other country in Latin America.

The works must be original, will not infringe rights of third parties shall not have been awarded in other contests. The theme will focus on freedom. The conditions covering the contest is divided into three: Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Fashion Design.

Award Presentation object of this constitutes acceptance of these rules and failure thereof, the exclusion from the competition.

Deadlines

Papers must be submitted by 12:00 pm on December 28, 2012. The presentation may be made only through the website www.premioscortesdecadiz.es.

Presentation

The works will be uploaded to the page in a single file in ZIP format, entering on the ‘Participate’. In the digital escrow, attach the author’s data (name, full address, email and phone) and the curriculum (PDF). Can also upload another PDF file with the data sheet (graphic and written) of the work.

The organization of the prize is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all data and not to disclose the identity of the perpetrators until the jury has reached its decision.

The jury may require the physical presence of the finalists for final assessment.

The author must also make the assessment of his work for the purpose of coverage by the insurance purchased by the City, in the case required the jury to send the work for final evaluation.

Endowment

Establishing a prize of twelve thousand (12,000) euros, which will apply the withholding tax with the laws in force. The jury could devote full prize for a single work or divide, at the rate of four thousand (4,000) to award a prize for each of the categories. It also may grant diplomas and / or certificates are not subject to any amount.

Jury

The jury will be composed of the Mayor the Hon. Cadiz City Council, acting as the president or the person whom she delegates, a representative HE. Cadiz City Council, which shall act as secretary / a, both non-voting members and three renowned within the field of design.

Failure

Contestants will be considered subject to the jury’s decision that is final and may be declared void if it considers it appropriate, also is empowered to resolve any other incident that may occur and not to conflict with these rules. Their votes will be secret and may not be challenged or subjected to any kind of action for any person or entity.

The jury’s decision will be announced before March 19, 2013. The award will be made at a public event whose date will determine the Hon. City of Cadiz.

The / s work / s prize / s will be considered / n as a donation to the City of Cadiz, taking it all rights to its reproduction, exhibition, or use it deems appropriate.

Public exhibition and online

The City Council reserves the power to make a public exhibition with the finalists. All participating work may be published on the internet, reviewing his own and features, once known the jury’s verdict. However, this publication will not be required by the City.
