Practice information and facilities
WELCOME PLAN
PRACTICE INFORMATION
I) HEALTH CARE AND INSURANCE
Students from European Union State members or EEA countries have different options to obtain health care: European Health Insurance Card, Form E 111, E 128 or the European Card of Health Security. The form must be properly filled before their stay begins, so we strongly recommend to contact their own Social Security Office.
The students will benefit from our National Social Security System and will be able to get medical assistance at public health institutions.
Every single student must be properly insured. Plus, students who don’t belong to EU or EAA must also be properly insured to develop their stay by a health insurance (public or private) which covers the Spanish requirements.
Emergency calls: 112
II) VISA
There is no need to apply for a visa for EU students.
All non-EU/EEA foreign students who wish to remain in Spain for more than 90 days must apply for a long-term student visa, which will be granted for the whole duration of the stay. It must be applied from the Spanish embassy or consulate that has jurisdiction in the students’ countries.
After the students’ arrival in Spain, they must apply at the Foreign Office or a police station for an authorization which allow them to stay while attending their course.
III) ACCOMMODATION
Our institution doesn’t provide students with accommodation service, so they will have to rent a flat or a room. Nevertheless, assistance will be offered from our institution. An accommodation list can be checked at the welcome plan.
Some suitable options for the students:
– Burgos University link for accommodation (it is an application where ads from people looking for a room-mate can be found): http://web.ubu.es/inforalumno/alojamiento/buscar_pisos_f.php
– Residencia San Agustín (our institution has an agreement for suitable prices with this student residence placed in the city centre).
