“Quando uno straniero viene a Napoli piange due volte, quando arriva e quando riparte”. It is said that when someone comes to Naples, he cries twice, once when he arrives and then again when he leaves. And it is true that even if we are only two hours away by plane, traveling to Naples is like travelling to the past; it is totally different from what we are used to. The arrival was not easy because the city is very big, the traffic is chaotic, the streets look like a labyrinth, and there are people who try to sell souvenirs at every corner, however soon you get used to it and fall in love with this city so full of life and contrasts. Making an Erasmus with a person who is your best friend is a unique experience that has allowed us to learn and enjoy life together in Naples. The people here are open and friendly, although many people speak the Neapolitan dialect, difficult to understand. This experience is allowing us to make new friends from all over the world, to visit museums, cities, to enjoy a good gastronomy and its warm climate. The city is full of street art and there is always something interesting to do and visit, we have even been able to witness the recording of a Dolce & Gabbana advertisement in the center of the city, which like other prestigious brands, turns to its streets to inspire for Collections. The Accademia di Belli Arte is a multidisciplinary faculty, in which all fields of design and art are studied, which is an advantage since it allows you to relate the design to other disciplines. At first we were a little lost because they use a different didactic method but now we feel at ease and the classmates are always willing to give us a hand. We encourage all students to make an Erasmus. It is a unique experience, apart from learning a new language and a different culture, it allows you to open your mind, meet new people, teach you how to develop and leave your comfort zone. This stay will be an unforgettable experience as the memory of its streets, local shops, street food, and its wonderful and delicious ice cream, its paradisal islands, which will always be in our hearts.
