Alla scoperta di Gubbio e Umbria

22.06.2017

The week from 21th to 28th May, four first-year students from Leather Accessories Craft work at the EASD, Elena Puente Martín, Pamela Barrul Escudero, Marcos López Hoyos and Alicia Asensio Meneses, along with two teachers, María de Smara Gonçalves  Diez and Ana María de Obesso Grijalvo, made a mobility to Italy as participants of entreVET “Cultural Features in Product Design. Entrepreneurial Initiative in VET”, a project within Erasmus+ KA2 actions and funded by the European Commission.

These mobilities took place in Gubbio, in Umbria region (Italy), meeting place with students and teachers from Istituto di Istruzione Superiore G. Mazzatinti, our hosts; Tartu Art School (Estonia), the project’s coordinators; Raahen koulutuskuntayhtymä (Finland); and a coach from Centro Europeo de Empresas e Innovación de Burgos (CEEI).

During these days everyone took part in a workshop where two different activities were fulfilled. The first one, was based on visiting Gubbio city, along with Peruggia and Assisi, to know their history and cultural heritage, with the main goal of looking for images of their different symbols, taking photos and working on them, reinterpreting the symbols graphically and digitally, creating different patterns which can be applied to contemporary design products raising their added value accordingly. All the patterns elaborated during all the international mobilities through the two-year project, will be used to create prototypes and products in different areas of crafts and design.

The second action consisted in two different activities: ceramics, where the first ceramic-making patterns were drawn, painted and baked; and miniatures, in the “Arte libro Unaluna” space, an adjoint private workshop to Istituto G. Mazzatinti, where writing and miniatures reproduction were worked on.

The following workshops, with the CEEI support, will continue to highlight the creation of patterns from the different host countries’ cultures, and they will take place in Burgos (Spain), where the stress will be made on product development and production; and in Raahen (Finland), where the main idea will be product sales.

From our School we would like to thank the effort everybody has made to make this stay possible.

Grazie mille!!
