This Project “Sugar” is based on the shapes of women´s dresses from the 19th century, in particular on the shapes on the second half of that century.
My designs will be inspired mainly by bustle. (A bustle is a type of framework used to expand the fullness or support the drapery of a woman´s dress, occurring predominantly in the mid-to-late 19th century.) That is why I have emphasized on how the frame under the dresses has evolved. I will leave aside menswear (although I will mention it briefly) since the designs of my project are aimed at women.
And finally, since my project mainly revolves around the corset, I will examine corset throughout history since I wanted to have knowledge and to be aware of how this garment appeared and the different changes that it has undergone in each stage of history.
